Working Our Inner Self, through an incredible journey to the heart of South India, we will work the inner connection with ourselves with the help of Yoga and Indian Ayurveda. A trip to the beautiful Kerala, one of the most beautiful and lush regions of India. This tropical paradise with palm trees waving at the tip of the Indian subcontinent will become our home for a few days, with yoga sessions by the sea and Ayurvedic treatments and massages that will fill us with energy and replenish vitality. A very special way to welcome the new year full of energy and well-being.
Madrid - Cochin
When we arrive at Cochin airport, they will give us a warm welcome and will transfer us to the hotel. Depending on our arrival time, we can enjoy an Ayurvedic massage at the hotel to relax after the long trip.
Just start the day we will have our first yoga session in India. After breakfast we can enjoy the city of Cochin, the Dutch Mattancherry Palace, famous for the murals that decorate its walls representing scenes of the Ramayana, the Church of St. Francis, oldest of the European churches in India, and the Basilica of Santa Cruz, originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. We will also see the curious and huge cantilever fishing nets that Chinese merchants brought with them. In the afternoon we will attend a Kadhkali dance show, an ancient artistic representation of Kerala. Return to the Cochin hotel.
Cochin - Kumarakom
In the morning we will have a yoga session at the hotel. Later we will travel to the backwater region of Kumarakom, a small dream town located on the shores of the famous Vembanad Lake. Kumarakom is known for its pleasant atmosphere, which we will experience during the rest of the afternoon, among Ayurvedic delights. Overnight in Kumarakom.
We will start the day with a yoga session surrounded by the beauty of Kumarakom. After breakfast we will have free time until noon, when we will go on an excursion to the backwaters of Alleppey, known as the Venice of the East for its narrow canals. We will embark on a fascinating houseboat, which will navigate the canals while tasting a delicious meal on board, observing the life of the locals. Return to Kumarakom hotel.
Kumarakom - Trivandrum - Kovalam
In the morning, after breakfast, we will travel to the famous beach of Kovalam. On the way, we will stop in the city of Trivandrum, where we will have lunch and visit the Napier Museum, a building that dates back to 1880 and combines the architectural styles of Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian, with a unique natural air conditioning system. We will also visit the Chitra art gallery, which houses paintings from the Mongolian, Rajput and Tanjore art schools, as well as a very rare collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma, Svetoslav and Nicholas Roedrich. We will move to Kovalam to spend the night.
In the morning we will do a yoga session. We will spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Kovalam or receiving Ayurvedic treatments at the hotel and other nearby centers. Overnight in Kovalam.
Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Kovalam
We will start the day with a yoga session at the hotel. Then, we will go on an excursion to Kanyakumari, stopping at Padmanabhapuram Palace, an old wooden building. In Kanyakumari we will visit the Kumari Amman temple. The goddess Kumari is a virgin goddess who fights demons with one hand and protects the freedom of the entire world. Then we can take a short boat trip to visit the magnificent statue of Thiruvalluvar, which weighs 7000 tons, located 400 meters from the coast. It was built in memory of a great Tamil poet, Valluvar, who preached traditional values in two-line poems. We will see the monument to Vivekananda, the great scholar known throughout the world. After this, we will also see the monument to Gandhi, father of the nation, which resembles an Orissa temple, adorned by Hindu, Christian and Muslim architects. Finally we will return to Kovalam to spend the night.
Trivandrum - Madrid
We will have our last session of yoga and Ayurvedic treatments until noon. Then we will transfer to Trivandrum airport to take the flight back to Madrid.
