Breakfast buffet at the hotel. At the agreed time, we will leave for a 4X4 Jeep excursion to the heart of Bali in the East, the unknown and touristless Bali that our grandparents met. The powerful Jeep will open the roof window so that we can stand up and, thus, have much more panoramic views than going in a normal car. Mind you, watch out for the banana tree branches!
They will pick us up at the hotel and we will go to the small village of Pejaten, where we will see the curious process of manual manufacturing of tiles for Balinese houses and the delicate work of a factory of a world-renowned pottery for its fine quality and beauty. We will be surprised by the patience with which they work!
We will continue our tour to see the local lifestyle in the Kerambitan market and the artificial lake of Telaga Tunjung, where we will learn about the complex water irrigation system and cocoa plantations. We will rest briefly in the traditional house of a Balinese family, who will receive us with their big smile and invite us to drink traditional Balinese coffee and sweets while explaining the curious structure of the Balinese house.
We will continue with our tour, visiting beautiful rice fields, until we reach the Temple of Tamba Waras, a historical temple from the 15th century to which the king of Tabanan sent a person to seek a cure for his illness in meditation. Tamba means medicine and Waras means health.
We will arrive at the famous Jatiluwih Rice Fields, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, where we will take advantage of lunch at a local restaurant with beautiful views. Back to the hotel. accommodation.
